Practised since ancient times, mudras are a beautiful, powerful & healing practise incorporated into yoga, meditation, dance & prayer.
Mudra means “seal” - when we form a Mudra with our hands, we create energetic & physical connections between power points that allow us to link our individual Pranic life force with universal cosmic energy.
A timeless practise that offers a range of benefits to the practitioner. Especially when in combination with pranayama, asana & meditation, mudras improve physical, mental & spiritual well-being.
Tho the gestures may be subtle, the effect is powerful! As these connections are made, the nervous system is stimulated in specific ways & energy is channeled through our body via the energetic pathways, or nadis, of the meridian system.
JNANA (wisdom) MUDRA is known to stimulate the pineal gland, relax the mind & improve our ability to focus. Also known as CHIN (consciousness) MUDRA, this seal connects to our higher selves by lifting our energy, elevating our mood, calming our mind & relaxing our body.
The index finger (individual consciousness) & the thumb (universal consciousness) gently join to form a circle with the palms facing up - this creates connection & stimulates an opening effect for the practitioner to be able to receive Divine Source wisdom.
